Baby Blanket is DONE!

BABY BLANKET IS DONE!

Wahoooooo! The baby shower was last Sunday and I finished the baby blanket at 4:30am that morning. I'm pleased with how it came out overall. I wish I had done the border a little longer but 32" of garter stitch was enough to drive me crazy and I had to do 4 of them. My daughter was very very pleased with the blanket and I'm sure the baby will love it for years. The bottom right square is for the baby name and birthday. Only 6 weeks away! I took our birthdays out of the picture but basically it is from the bottom right corner going up is my daughter, then me, then hubby. Going from bottom right to left of blanket is baby's dad, his mother and then his father. I was going for a "family tree" type theme. The other 9 squares are different baby theme pictures, like a rocking horse, carriage, stork, lamb, bunny, etc.
Happy Knitting!

That's really pretty! What a nice heirloom for the baby and the baby's family! You had to make 4 blankets? Yikes. You were busy!

The baby blanket turned out beautiful! I like the family tree theme.

lol....I don't think I'd want to do that much garter stitch either. :)

This is so beautiful and thoughtful. Will keep in mind the next time someone close to me has a baby.

hoody partner, how is everything going in the new year for you. I have picked a pattern for your package and goodies are coming into mind as the days pass. Just wanted to drop a line, that am still around and working on your package.

I really like it! And, I dont blame you on the garter stitch (although I'm workin on a blanket for a big human man - stupid boy liked garter stitch....grrr)

but it looks so neat, and the colors really pop! It will definately stimulate the mind!

GREAT JOB!

Lol I don't know how to knit socks on circulars...maybe I just don't have small enough circulars? I haven't made any more progress on my socks as I knit up lover's mittens and I LOVE THEM! Will be making a matching set for our other hands...at least my hand. He probably won't wear the other one lol.
