Going Nowhere Fast?

I think I have too many projects going at one time. I feel like I am going no where fast. Actually I've done a lot of knitting, but only have one finished object. Daughter went to Hobby Lobby and I asked her to get me some S&C, blue, green, and yellow. Of course, she brought home an extra skein. She got herself a skein of pink new twists. Hmmm....I think.... is she going to knit or crochet...Nope, it was Mom, please another dish cloth. She hasn't even used the ones I have knit for her. She calls them her "pretties". So in a couple of hours I finished a seed stitch window cloth.

In the mean time, I've started more socks:

Regular 2x2 ribbing with short row heel. Using Trampoline Stretch by Skacel. It looks like tiger-eyes and hubby is going to love these socks

Then I am on the foot part of this sock. It is made with 1x1 ribbing and then the columbine pattern repeat. Pattern is from Socks soar on 2 circular needles. The yarn is one of my favorites of SWTC Tofutsies (commonly called the "shrimp yarn")

And another cable sweater:

I also started another cable sweater for my daughter. This is the back of it. I am using Kosmos with a Queensland Collection Soft Comfort Mohair. It is so soft and nice. I think she will enjoy wearing it. I just have to make it longer than mine as I like waste-length and she likes hip length.

Ahhh this is just for me:

Sample Stitch Kimono

This is strip one of the sample stitch kimono. I am really behind on this one. The KAL started in January and you get 2-3 stitches a month to choose from. It is going to be beautiful when it is done, but I had decided just to do my swatches for a couple of months before I decided what stitches to use in the sweater. There are 12 months to the KAL and 12 stitches are used in the pattern. Therefore you get about 24-36 stitches for the year and you use 12 of them It's a cool idea and thank Gwen for producing it for us. I am using Louise Harding Kashmir DK for mine. It's a rosy-lavender color. Due to the patterns, the swatches appear to be very important as I am using size 7, 8, and 9's for my gauges. I don't understand that exactly but I think it has to do with the stitches used and the sequence.

Hmmm....I think that is it, but it's enough for me. Happy knitting all.

Tofutsies Sock Yarn Part II

The only comment I can make about this yarn is I use a size 2 needle with 68-72 stitches or size 3 with 60 stitches. I have knitted socks with the size 3 and they are a little looser but still stay up, but on a size 2 needle they are just beautiful. I love how they wash (throw them in the washer). It says you can throw them in the dryer, but I hang all my hand-knits up to dry, so I just add these up there too. At my LYS, one of the women said they didn't like this yarn....of course, they use size 0 and size 1 to knit socks, and they had "splitting" of the yarn. I haven't seen that at all, but again, I use a bigger needle. On some blogs, people really do not like this yarn. I would love to say to them, any extra? please send my way! I will gladly trade from my stash! So for those of you thinking about using this yarn, I say Go For It! I really do love it and NO I have NO affiliation with the manufacturer! LOL Happy knitting all.

Dishcloths and more!

The dishcloths were taking over my end table in the great room, so I blocked them and took pictures! It's about time for me also to do this! Of course, I've done more than this, but I am really bad about giving stuff as gifts and not taking pictures! Now, to hunt up all the socks and get pictures of them. Happy knitting all!

Sweater is done!

The sweater is done! Went to my LYS (Yarn2go) last night after work and the women there helped me with the ribbing neckline. Got that all knitted up and just had to attach the other sleeve! Didn't know when you bind off (especially at the neck) you have to bind off in pattern. So I learned something new and it will help with the sweater I am working on now. More details later! Happy knitting all!

Ok, this is tooo funny. I have never done a sweater with a neckline ribbing, so I get done, and I can't get my head in it! I had to take the bind-off out and put it back on needles. Now at lunch time, I will go to my LYS and say "helppppppppp please!". Otherwise, one sleeve in and the other is done just waiting to be sewn in. More later.

Working on sweater for me

Ok, well my camera phone doesn't take the best picture, but this is the sweater I am working on for me. I am soooo excited as I only have to finish the neckline (3 1/2" of 2x2 ribbing) and the sleeves. Of course, it is getting warmer now, but still on cold wet rainy days like this weekend, it will feel really really nice. It is a quick knit since it is made with bulky weight yarn and size 13 needles, but that's okay! The yarn is Lane Breeze and is soooo soft and warm. Oh if I could only find more in a different color I would make another one. Happy knitting all!

Where did the picture go?

Wasn't sure where the picture went to, so here it is (maybe again?) I think I have a little to learn about all of this.....ok, maybe I have a lot to learn! Happy knitting again all!

3 months and finally posting

Wow, it's been wild. I am really bad about posting, but have a new goal to try to post every day or every other day! We'll see. This is the shell I made for my daughter. Had to add the crochet to the bottom as it was a tad too short for her. Next time I will measure her from the front and not the back! LOL I am pleased with how it came out, but I am picky and realized I made a few mistakes, but oh well, it will work for right now. Hoping she will enjoy it and if she doesn't well then, I guess I have a new shell to wear. I am going to try to take pictures tonight of all my finished projects for this year. I have a quite a few, but I am also bad about taking pictures. I guess this will be another goal. Will I make it? Not sure, but my job ends in a couple of weeks and if I don't start a new one right away, I'll have plenty of time to sit down and figure this blogging out and hopefully how to add flicker to keep my finished projects in. Happy knitting everyone!
